A spark of joy became a song
Adapted from the original release story, shared on 6 April 2024.
In March 2024, I released Zu Meinem Schutzengel—“To My Guardian Angel.” Reaching a sound I was happy with in mixing and mastering felt fulfilling and exciting. In that moment, a guitar riff appeared. I began writing down the riffs and beats, and the chords and melody of Trap in the Zone followed.
The song carries that happy, optimistic feeling into an upbeat sound. It is an invitation to move, smile, and make time for what brings you joy.
My love of music began as a child in the Philippines. I joined Rondalla and choir during my school years, and later became a vocalist in a band formed with my workmates. After moving to Germany, I found space to develop my own songs and share them with the world.
Disney, pop, and anime music have stayed with me since childhood. Japanese pop-rock, including the band SCANDAL, is another influence. I imagine my songs with the emotion of musical theatre and the depth of an orchestra.
Trap in the Zone brings together drums, electric bass, rhythm guitar, lead synthesizer, and strings. The guitar gives it energy, while the strings add depth to its pop-rock atmosphere.
Keep doing the things you love. Making space for our passions can give everyday life meaning, energy, and something worth smiling about. That is the feeling I wanted to share through Trap in the Zone.
